Season 4 ended on a much calmer note than Season 3, which ended with crazy things going to happen on the ranch this timeThe Duttons are back on the ranch, but Yellowstone won’t be back on TV for a while yet. Paramount has announced that the hit drama is back in production for Season 5.
This will be unlike any other season, with more episodes than ever and a break in the middle, probably to give us all time to recover from whatever with a bloody explosion. We all know that Beth (Kelly Reilly), the real brains behind everything on the Yellowstone ranch, had gotten her adopted brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) to kill Garrett, his real father (Will Patton).
Garrett was the one who had tried to kill John (Kevin Costner), Beth (Luke Grimes), and Kayce (Luke Grimes) back in Season 3, so Beth thought he deserved it. Beth also made sure she had proof of the deed, so she now has Jamie, who is running for Governor, right where she wants him. She just got married on the spot to Rip (Cole Hauser) and saw her father’s strange new vegan friend (Piper Perabo) go to jail, so basically, it’s Beth’s world and everyone is just living in it for now.
Beth’s plan to take over the world and Montana is made harder by the fact that Kayce just got back from a big spiritual journey that showed him two paths. He told Monica (Kelsey Asbille) later that at least one of these paths would mean “the end of us.” Whatever that means, it can’t be good, and it makes the long wait for Season 5 even harder.

On Sunday, November 13, 2022, Yellowstone will return to Paramount Network, just in time for the holiday season.

Season 5 will have 14 episodes spread out over two separate seven-episode arcs. It’s the most exciting season yet, but we don’t yet know how long the midseason break will be.
Yellow Stone Season 5 Cast
No need to worry, everyone from the original cast will be back. Kelly Reilly as Beth, Luke Grimes and Wes Bentley as Kayce and Jamie, Cole Hauser and Brecken Merrill as Rip and Monica and Carter and Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater are among the cast members playing John Dutton. Teeter (Jen Landon), who has been upgraded to a series regular, will also be back in the bunkhouse, along with Forrie Smith and Denim Richards.
Jefferson White will reprise his role as Jimmy’s fiancée Emily, played by Kathryn Kelly, who has been elevated to series regular status. Because he picked the Four Sixes over Yellowstone, the reformed problem magnet will be around in some capacity.
Prequels and Spinoffs
Taylor Sheridan’s performances about ranchers are no longer confined to Yellowstone, and it’s unlikely that they will ever be again. Prequel miniseries 1883 has already been shown on Paramount+, which tells the Dutton family’s journey to Montana. They were on their way to Oregon when John Dutton’s grandfather John Srbrave .’s and daring older sister Elsa (Isabel May) was shot with a foul arrow.
To honour her father James (Tim McGraw), the Dutton family moved to a lovely region in Montana. David Oyelowo will play Reeves, the famed first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi in a spinoff called 1883: Bass Reeves. Despite his prior servitude, this former slave managed to apprehend over 3,000 offenders without ever suffering any physical harm.
1883 will be followed by 1932, which tells the story of the Dutton family amid the Great Depression and Prohibition. Ford and Mirren will feature in the show, which is rumoured to be based on the theory that Ford is playing John Sr., or perhaps another unknown Dutton closer to his genuine age of around 79, if at all. We’ll have to wait till John Sr. was in his late 50s or early 60s in 1932 to find out what happened to him.
To further explore the ranch’s unique history, Sheridan is penning the Yellowstone spinoff 6666, which will take place on the ranch’s actual, historic Four Sixes Ranch in Texas (which Sheridan now owns). As with the original, it will air on Paramount Network.

YELLOWSTONE SEASON 5 PLOT
Season 5 of Yellowstone is still a mystery, but there are a few important threads to keep an eye on. All of the attention that is being generated by John’s candidacy to become governor. This season’s political adversaries have been tipped off that the Dutton patriarch will be imprisoned because of some true dirt that adheres to him.
To make things right with her ex-boyfriend, Beth smeared Jamie’s hands with paint and mud. Jamie is stranded for the time being, but for how long? Finally, Kayce has become stranded in the Montana wilderness. Even though Mo and Rainwater said they’d return in four days, the weather made that seem like an eternity.
All of this should be addressed in Yellowstone season 5, which should also include some fresh ideas. Even more thundering times may be ahead for the Dutton ranch!
