Seventy episodes of Rick and Morty were ordered by Adult Swim in 2018, which commissions the show. And with ten episodes in each season, that could take as many as seven seasons!
As it stands, there are seven more seasons in the works, and with the release of season 4 this year and season 5 coming out in 2021, it’s clear that there are five more seasons to go, and season 6 will be the first one.
Season seven has been completed according to the writers’ tweets, so it’s safe to assume that season six is already in production. Our favourite dimension-hopping, multi-universal, insane, high functioning alcoholic scientist and his grandson will soon embark on a series of misadventures across our universe and others.
Rick and Morty Season 6 Release Date
Season 6 of Rick and Morty has not yet been released, as of this writing. It will be released in 2022, at the earliest, at this point. Adult Swim’s 2021 festival featured a Rick and Morty panel, during which they mentioned that Season 6 of Rick and Morty would premiere in 2022. There’s no telling when the sixth season will be released, but both they and Netflix are notorious for dropping surprises. Keeping our eyes open is all we need to do.
Rick and Morty Cast
Having Rick and Morty without its titular characters is like a body without its head. You need both to function normally. Seeing that, the cast is as follows:
- Justin Roiland
- Chris Parnell
- Sarah Chalke
- Spencer Grammer
- Kari Wahlgren
- Keith David
- Dan Harmon
- Alison Brie
- Christina Ricci
- Darren Criss
Apart from these, expect to see quite a few cameos from some very recognizable names.
Rick and Morty Season 6 Trailer
Rick and Morty Season 6 Storyline
As in previous seasons, viewers can expect a smorgasbord of interconnected storylines that will see Rick and Morty exploring the cosmos and the multiverse, getting into mishaps, falling in love with aliens, and more.
As well as reviving some old plotlines, such as the death of Rick’s family by a Rick from another dimension, Evil Morty and Evil Summer and others, we can expect to see them revisiting some of these old storylines.
In addition, the show’s creators have stated that this season’s episodes will be a bit more family-friendly, which would be a pleasant surprise.
There will be more depth and heart to this season’s sarcasm, quips, and jokes than in previous ones.
Rick and Morty Season 6 Premiere Date
We have only received confirmation that the seventh season has been completed and nothing more; we do not know when it will premiere. Because it’s well into production and Adult Swim has confirmed that the show will air in 2022 and that it will follow the same release schedule as previous seasons, we can expect it to air between June and September, just like season five.
The Conclusion
The new Rick and Morty season is something I am eagerly anticipating. With no doubt, it’s one of the best and most unique shows we’ve seen in recent memory. I’m Pickle Rick!” “Get Schwifty!” “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!” are just some of the now-iconic quotes from the film, along with numerous references to other works of popular culture.
Along with other pop culture elements alluding to it, this is one of the most eagerly anticipated seasons in recent memory.
Rick and Morty Season 6 plot: What Will It Be About?
The plot of Season 6 has yet to be revealed, but we can only hope that future stories will be as good as the excellent “Mortyplicity” and less like the mediocre “Rickdependence Spray.”
“There are a number of new episodes to look forward to, in which you’ll get to see a different side of each family member. There were a lot of episodes this season that focused on the family, which I always find fascinating. Or when Rick and Jerry are off doing something. We get to see Beth, Morty, and Summer live their own lives away from Rick, which is fascinating to watch.” It was Spencer Grammer’s turn to play pranks.
Also, it appears that the villain for season six has been revealed.
As Grammer put it, “Evil Summer is probably the most like Rick she can be.” “Her intelligence is derived from the fact that she shares a lot of traits with Rick’s female relatives. In a sense, she’d have to beat Rick’s brains out of him?”
So, expect more Rick and Morty adventures in season six, but with a twist.
