This is the city of Calgary, Alberta On Friday, September 23, 2022, the Western Hockey League announced that the 2022-23 Regular Season would commence. On Monday, June 20th, WHL teams will begin revealing their home opener dates for the 2022-23 regular season, which will take place in Winnipeg.
Pre-season schedule for WHL in 2022 has also been released by WHL. The season begins on September 6 and ends on September 18 with a total of 47 games.
Both the Everett Silvertips and Tri-City Americans host tournaments in the WHL’s pre-season schedule in 2022.
There are six preseason games planned to begin on September 9 and all five U.S. Division Clubs are expected to appear. The Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett will host all six games.
On Friday, September 16, Tri-City will host a five-game pre-season event that will feature appearances by all five of the US Division Clubs. The Toyota Arena in Kennewick, Wash., will be the venue for all five of the matches.
There will be five new communities outside the WHL Club markets where WHL Pre-Season hockey will be played, giving hockey fans in other parts of Western Canada the chance to see it live.
Big River First Nation Arena in Debden, Saskatchewan, will host the Prince Albert Raiders and Saskatoon Blades on September 6, approximately 90 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
Jon Baillie Arena will host two WHL games on September 9 and 10: the Vancouver Giants will face the Prince George Cougars in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, while the Victoria Royals will face Prince George in Victoria.
Edmonton and Calgary will meet in Siksika Deerfoot Sportsplex approximately 125 kilometres southeast of Calgary on September 17th for a two-game series.
In Warman, Saskatchewan, the Blades will take against the Raiders while Cam Neely Arena in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, hosts the Giants and the Kelowna Rockets in September 17.
The 2022-23 WHL Regular Season Schedule is planned to be unveiled in the first week of July.
