Season 3 of Fortnite is only a few weeks away. Season 2 will only last 11 weeks, according to the game’s files, which is a few weeks shorter than previous seasons, which have lasted 12-14 weeks on average. A new battle pass, a revamped map, a new loot pool, and more are all expected to arrive shortly.
But what are the specifics of the upcoming Fortnite campaign? Quite a bit, although the majority of it is based on leaks and rumours that are, at the very least, credible. As of now, this is all we know about Season 3 of Fortnite, Chapter 3.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 start date
Season 3 of Fortnite has yet to be announced by Epic Games, but we can still predict when it will begin. The active dates for the current battle pass can be found in small font at the bottom of the screen in the battle pass menu in-game. The final day of the season is expected to be the date of the battle pass’s expiration. That day is the 3rd of June in this case. That would indicate that Season 3 of Fortnite is likely to begin on June 4th.
There are, however, a few caveats to this expectation. We saw this several times in 2020 as Epic Games adapted to the new work-from-home workflow while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Epic has left the door open for the possibility of a later end date until it makes a formal announcement to that effect.
Additionally, there may be a long slush period in-between seasons. Fortnite Season 2 could go offline on June 3 and not have a brand-new season to jump into right away the following day if the story or technical reasons necessitate a longer period of downtime. It’s interesting to note that the next season of Fortnite is already slated to begin and end on a different day of the week than previous ones, which may be an even more preferable one for its millions of players who don’t have to worry about school or work the following day!
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Battle Pass: Darth Vader and Indiana Jones?
Several reliable leaks indicate that the upcoming battle pass will be a significant one. This is the first battle pass in years not to include a licenced character, and it appears that trend will continue in Season 3 with one of the most requested: Darth Vader.
Tabor Hill aka TaborTimeYT, a reputable YouTuber, claims that the Sith Lord from Star Wars will appear in Season 3, along with Indiana Jones. Since Fortnite is known for including licenced characters in its battle passes, we’re willing to bet at least one of these characters will be part of the Season 3 battle pass even though Hill has not explicitly stated that they will be. After all, they could simply be available for purchase in the Item Shop.
In addition to some of these possibilities, it’s most likely that the battle pass will include several Epic-created original characters, which we’ve seen in nearly every battle pass except for the all-Marvel Chapter 2, Season 4 battle pass. It’s always exciting to meet some new heroes (and villains) in the Fortnite omniverse each new season, especially with past favourites like Peely, Jules, and Fabio Sparklemane showcasing what the Fortnite art team can do.
Reliable data miners have discovered a final event in the game files, confirming, to the best of our knowledge without Epic’s input, that another major cinematic event is on the way. The Collider, also known as the IO’s Doomsday Device, is currently spewing out odd energy beams a few times a week north of Tilted Towers. This time, it’s likely to revolve around that.
Resistance and The Seven have been driving the IO out of every pocket of the map for weeks, and we know from leaks that the Io will eventually be driven into just a small region on the map, which may cause the group to act like an animal with its back to the wall. IO may use this Doomsday Device, but what exactly does it do in that case? The more pressing question is: how can The Seven shut it down in time? Season 2’s final episode could use all of these questions.
New landmarks and map locations are introduced with each new season, and Season 3 looks poised to reshape the island for the third time thanks to this massive particle collider. We’ll be sure to keep this page updated as we learn more about Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 over time. The island is about to descend once more into chaos, so brace yourself.
