In 2024, George Miller and Byron Kennedy’s post-apocalyptic action film franchise Mad Max will see its next installment, Furiosa. In 1979, the first film of the Mad Max franchise was released. Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985), Mad Max 2/The Road Warrior (1981), and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) were the three subsequent installments.
A lot of people think Fury Road and Mad Max 2 are the best action movies of all time. The series has also had a significant effect on popular culture, particularly in the realms of post- and apocalyptic fiction.
The films follow the adventures of Max Rockatansky, a police officer in a dystopian future in Australia where societal collapse has resulted from war and catastrophic resource scarcity. The next installment in the series will serve as a prelude to Fury Road’s spin-off.
When and Where Is ‘Furiosa’ Releasing?
On October 23, 2020, Warner Bros. Pictures announced the theatrical release dates for three prominent films: Furiosa, The Color Purple, and Coyote Vs. Acme. During the announcement, the release date of Furiosa was set for June 23, 2023. The decision to delay the publication of Furiosa, the Fury Road spinoff, until 2024 was made later on September 10, 2021.
To avoid missing Memorial Day weekend in 2024, Furiosa will now be released on May 24, 2024. If, starring Ryan Reynolds, the science fiction sequel to Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and Garfield, an animated feature picture starring Chris Pratt, are among the other films set to be released on the same day.
Rumor has it that Furiosa will make its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival before hitting theaters nationwide. From May 14th to the 25th, 2024, the event is set to take place. It was announced that Furiosa will receive a theatrical release in October 2020, along with the film’s first release date.
Sometime after the movie’s initial release, HBO Max subscribers may be able to view it. Furiosa, like all other recent Warner Bros. releases, is likely to be included to the service at some point, even if it has not been officially stated whether the movie will be accessible for streaming just yet.

Who’s In the Cast of ‘Furiosa’?
Adding to the already thrilling cast of Furiosa, a number of critically regarded performers have joined the project. The lead character of a youthful Imperator Furiosa will be played by the extraordinarily gifted Anya Taylor-Joy. The Queen’s Gambit, a Netflix original series, catapulted Taylor-Joy to stardom. In the time after, she went on to star in several critically acclaimed films.
Many believe that her portrayal as Imperator Furiosa will be her most dramatic and violent performance to date, and they are eagerly anticipating her return in this new role. Reportedly playing the villain in the film is Chris Hemsworth, who stars in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though Hemsworth’s role is still up in the air, audiences can’t wait to see him and his co-star in a big screen adaptation.
He might be mistaken for a youthful Dementus or Immortan Joe. Since Hemsworth will be seen departing from his typical Marvel Cinematic Universe avatar, Furiosa is sure to be a beloved film for fans. Before Furiosa, in 2023, Hemsworth will star in Extraction 2, another one of his successful films that is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Tom Burke replaced Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the cast after the latter dropped out of the production in November 2021 owing to a scheduling conflict. Rumor has it that Burke is in talks to portray the villain Dementus, a warlord. As a warlord of the Wasteland and the formidable leader of the Biker Horde, he abducts the future Imperator Furiosa from Green Place.
For his roles as Athos in the 2014–2016 BBC series The Musketeers and Dolokhov in the 2016 BBC miniseries War & Peace, an adaptation of the famous book, Burke is primarily known. There has been talk that Chris Hemsworth, who plays Immortan Joe in Thor, may be pitted against Burke in Furiosa, since the plot involves a confrontation between Dementus and Joe from the past.
Angus Sampson, who played the Organic Mechanic in Fury Road, and Nathan Jones, who played Rictus Erectus, will both be returning to their roles in Furiosa. These newcomers are joining the Mad Max universe. A little part will also go to Quaden Bayles, an eleven-year-old dwarf that Miller collaborated with on Three Thousand Years of Longing.
Who Is Making ‘Furiosa’?
As he did with the massive Mad Max franchise, George Miller will helm Furiosa. In addition to starring in it, Miller and Doug Mitchell are co-producing it. Nico Lathouris, Margaret Sixel, Colin Gibson, Ben Osmo, Lesley Vanderwalt, Jenny Beavan, and composer Junkie XL (Tom Holkenborg) are all members of the skilled staff who worked on Fury Road.
They are all back for Furiosa. In this picture, Simon Duggan plays the role of cinematographer. Kennedy Miller Mitchell and Village Roadshow Pictures are the production companies who worked on the picture. Warner Bros. Pictures is the official distributor of the picture.
