Those who are afraid of ghosts might use the Phasmophobia skill to find out for themselves whether or not they are alone in their fears.
Phasmophobia has brought ghost hunting to a wider audience than ever before. Just in time for Halloween, Kinetic Games has unleashed a terrifying new title on the gaming public.
Four people can work together to investigate a supposedly haunted house or structure to see whether anything is lurking around. To prove the presence of ghosts, you and your team will embark on a series of adventures.
Updated September 5, 2021, by Amanda Hurych:
The Goryo and Myling are two new types of ghosts, as well as a new piece of evidence that might help you identify the type of ghosts you’re dealing with. Players will now approach the game differently after the update’s adjustments and additions. If you want to survive a hunt, there are new things to keep in mind. If you want to learn more about surviving Phasmophobia, keep reading.
Use Your Sprint Wisely
In the new Exposition update, the general player pace has been enhanced. After three seconds of running from ghosts, your sprint needs to “recharge.” Even though this may inspire you to fly more frequently, you should time your escapes.
Turn Off Your Electronic Equipment
Phasmophobia’s pleasures will be amplified in the next Exposition update. The noise of your character’s electrical equipment can now attract ghosts to your location, rather than merely your voice chaWhat matters is that you’re not avoiding your pals and staying in the shadows. The ghost will focus on your hiding area if you have the EMF Reader or Spirit Box out and make a lot of noise. Whenever a spectre is on the prowl, it’s a good idea to turn off any electronic devices in the room.
Use The DOTS Projector
The Exposition update adds a new piece of equipment. When a ghost walks by, the DOTS Projector illuminates its silhouette with an array of green laser dots on neighbouring surfaces. When you use the DOTS Projector, the three pieces of evidence you need to identify ghosts in Phasmophobia have changed for every category of ghosts.
The DOTS Projector is now included as possible evidence in several of them. When trying to narrow down your list of potential ghosts, don’t forget to bring out the DOTS Projector. For this reason, you should not depend on earlier evidence lists, either.
Sanity Affects More Than Just You
Similar to Don’t Starve Together’s Sanity mechanic, the Sanity mechanic in Phasmophobia is crucial to survival. The player will begin to see flickering lights when their sanity drops to a specific percentage (30%).
When it comes to ghosts, Sanity isn’t just about the visuals. It plays a role in determining whether or not a ghost enters “Hunt Mode.” Keep a check on your Sanity because even individuals with high sanity might be targeted by a ghost, therefore it is important to keep an eye on your own.
To avoid being caught by a ghost in a hunting mode, participants must disperse as far as possible. At these times, all means of contact are lost, and the ghost begins to scan the area for any unwary participants. The only way to get out of here is to burrow down and wait for the spectre to go away.
As long as the ghost hasn’t spotted you, hiding in a closet (or another suitable location) is your best choice, but hiding behind things is also an option. It’s tough to tell if a ghost is gazing at you because of their abilities and unpredictable movements.
Learn All You Can About A Spirit
Investigating an area for clues is only half the battle; you also need to know what you’re up against. The physics, movements, and behaviours of ghosts can spell catastrophe for investigators who aren’t well-versed in them.
Only Oni and Demons can start a quest with less than 50% Sanity, whereas normal ghosts can do so with less than 30%. If you’re an expert in your field, you’ll be rewarded with Phasmophobia. The greatest method to deal with adversity is to know what you’re up against.
Take The Specters Seriously
When you’re immersed in virtual reality, Phasmophobia might be downright terrifying, yet it’s still only a game. Even if you’re trying to keep your anxiety at bay, it’s easy to get sucked into the mire of laughter and joking around with pals.
Phasmophobia, on the other hand, has no patience for pranks. Make sure you keep your ears open for auditory cues and directions so you don’t get caught in the crossfire. The worst thing that can happen to your inquiry is to miss a crucial piece of information or a callout.
Be Careful With The Ouija Board
Those who are intrigued about a ghost and wish to acquire answers from the other side will most likely use the Ouija Board to do so. For all its investigative promise, this approach has several potentially lethal drawbacks.
Using the Ouija Board, for example, has a 33% chance of ending the Setup Phase immediately by enraging the ghost. As a result, a player’s mental stability may suffer. When players aren’t mentally prepared, either of these events can set off a search, which is a terrible thing to happen.
Use The Name Sparingly
The name of the ghost will be revealed on the whiteboard when you begin the game in your truck. The name of this person may come to mind when you first begin. Don’t! Using the name enrages the ghost, who is more likely to go into “hunting mode” and begin searching for you.
Your chances of being hurt by the ghost or failing to collect enough evidence to identify its type are increased in this situation. Only use the name if you haven’t observed any action yet.
Pull Out That EMF Reader And Thermometer
Finding the haunted room is one of your first key objectives. This stage will help you establish communication with the spirit and provide you with evidence to document for financial gain.
The best way to do this is using an EMF reader and thermometer. There is a succession of lights on the EMF reader that indicate the haunting level, and the thermometer displays temperatures below freezing. These simple readings will provide you with the data you require.
Ask Good Questions
A haunting’s proof may be found in the spirit box. You must, however, be careful to only ask pertinent questions. What do you want?” and “How can I help you?” “What’s up with you?”
Don’t Forget To Write In Your Journal
When things start to get going, and you see your first hauntings, you may forget that your main goal is to record evidence of hauntings to determine the type of spirit you are dealing with.
Actions like interacting with the spirit box, leaving fingerprints, causing freezing temperatures, or engaging in other paranormal behaviours can show you the type of spirit haunting the house. If you can guess the spirit correctly, you can get an even larger amount of cash. So, be sure to keep track of this journal.
Always Look At Objectives
When you begin the game, there are several tasks you must complete. That whiteboard is there for your reference, so use it when you begin. Doing four tasks during the session will guarantee you a raise.
Photographing a ghost, photographing dirty water, or experiencing subzero temperatures are all examples of this. Once inside, make sure that you’ve taken stock of these objectives and divided the work among your team members.
Pay Attention To Your Flashlight
In more ways than one, your flashlight serves as your compass. All the flashlights in the area, including your own, will flicker when the ghost is actively hunting. This indicates that the spirit is actively seeking to harm you and your loved ones. This is also the time of day when the phantom is most likely to be seen.
Always Have A Hiding Space Picked Out
Having a place to hide is essential for the reasons outlined in the previous entry, so find one now. You may be stalked by angry spirits, depending on how far they have come from the original scene.
Having a safe place to hide before the hunt begins is one of the best ways to get away from them. This could be a wardrobe or a locker. Stop speaking and turn off your flashlight when you enter this area. These actions will keep you safe from the demon.
Watch Your Sanity
Your sanity will begin to deteriorate as you are exposed to more and more paranormal activity. Yes, Eternal Darkness is referenced. It will be easier for ghosts to haunt and eventually hunt you if your sanity deteriorates.
To stay on top of your sanity, you’ll have to make a few trips to the truck. The only way to replenish your sanity when it is low is to take sanity pills, which can restore your sanity to about 40% of its original level. The truck does not restore your sanity, so don’t think that returning to the house will bring you back to your pre-haunt sanity levels.
Keep Your Spirit Box On
Keep your spirit box on most of the time like you would a light bulb. To speak, the spirit does not need to answer a question. The other side’s message may come through when you least expect it.
You may be able to pinpoint the location of the haunting and even get a hint as to whether or not the spirit is on the prowl. So, except when a ghost is on the prowl, make sure your spirit box is always on.
Take Photos Of Evidence
Take pictures of anything else that might point to eerie goings-on. All kinds of weird and wonderful paranormal paraphernalia are included in this category.
You can make money from these photos in addition to capturing the ghost itself. You should always perform this step even if you can’t get a real ghost image. Making the effort to leave with something is an important part of the process.
